KPMG is currently seeking a Managing Director to join our Audit DPP (Banking) organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee expansion of banking and finance portfolio monitoring activities across our public company portfolio
- Provide consulting resource support and clearing authority for engagement team inquiries addressing audit execution issues
- Monitor standard-setting activities relevant to the Financial Services Topic Team, assist with related communications and ensure timely updates to impacted firm guidance
- Maintain authoritative audit content (e.g. KAEG Industry Supplements) to ensure accuracy and compliance with audit standards, regulatory requirements and current industry practices
- Develop relationships and collaborate regularly with industry leaders to ensure effective two-way communication; engage with DPP, firm and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for the Topic Team's initiatives and objectives
- Assist with Financial Services Topic Team resource and project planning/management to optimize team performance and project outcomes
Qualifications:
- Minimum twelve years of recent financial statement reporting experience; extensive experience with and knowledge of US GAAP and experience in the areas of financial services (banking, investment management)
- Bachelor of Accountancy or Master of Accountancy at accredited college or university and licensed home-state CPA
- High level engagement management and people management skills and demonstrated potential to lead an overall engagement and/or serve as the technical resource to the client
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively coach, develop, recruit and manage staff and managers; can lead project teams on small to large sized projects; balance and direct multiple projects with differing deadlines and manage all aspects of inter-firm, cross-functional and client relationships
