KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Managing Director to join our Washington National Tax (WNT) - Federal Legislative and Regulatory Services (FLRS)practice.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in advising businesses on the latest developments with respect to federal tax policy, legislative reforms and the regulatory rulemaking process
- Contribute to thought leadership internally and externally through publishing and speaking activities, representing the firm in one-on-one client meetings, client speeches, road shows, and at events such as TEI, KPMG Tax Watch and KPMG Perspectives
- Collaborate with colleagues across WNT, KPMG US and KPMG member firms worldwide
- Support the development of WNT professionals at all levels by strengthening their experience, capabilities and institutional knowledge
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of recent experience in an audit, tax and/or advisory firm, professional services firm or think tank, coupled with experience with public sector agencies and corporations to include significant prior experience in tax policy, economic policy and legislative decision-making
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university and JD/LLM or licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent
- Strong commercial orientation, including the ability to identify market needs, support client relationships and translate policy expertise into business value
- Relevant government experience is preferred; candidates will be screened for adherence to post-employment restrictions
- Excellent communication, public speaking, research and writing skills with the ability to articulate complex policy matters clearly and credibly to varied audiences
