KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Tax Accountant to join our Partner Tax team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of state composite, partnership, and withholding tax filings
- Manage the tax compliance calendar and oversee the end-to-end process for quarterly and annual tax estimates and extensions
- Oversee the calculation of state apportionment, state source income, and other related tax computations
- Analyze state tax law changes and assess their impact on filing requirements and internal processes
- Collaborate with the technology team to guide the implementation of changes to partner tax deliverables; actively participate in the state K-1 processing effort, including form modifications and data integrity testing
- Mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering their growth and performance; support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of progressive tax experience, with demonstrated expertise in partnership tax filings (Form 1065, K-1s, etc.) and multi-state tax issues
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- Strong technological aptitude, including expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with tax software like Thomson Reuters GoSystem
- Demonstrated interest and capability in leveraging data analytics (Alteryx, Power BI) and AI to innovate and improve tax processes
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills with a passion for developing and managing a high-performing team; proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while managing competing deadlines effectively
- Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and project scopes; willingness and flexibility to work overtime during peak tax compliance period to meet critical deadlines
