- Work as part of the audit engagement team to support the use of Data and Analytics (D&A) in the performance of external audits including data acquisition, movement and transformation; utilize a range of technologies and data capabilities such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Power BI and other Azure technologies
- Communicate with audit engagement teams the technical implications of D&A capabilities, including data acquisition, data processing and the delivery of analytic results for use in the audit
- Work with audit engagement teams to identify the scope of D&A capabilities intended to be used, review analytic results for consistency, understand the insights gained and the impact of using the capabilities to plan and execute the audit
- Collaborate with client technology teams to understand the technical landscape and configuration of their ERP environment(s) and discuss the technical implications of data acquisition and further analysis needed; learn to prepare clear, well-structured, organized and effective audit documentation surrounding data cleansing, formatting, transformation and validation, including accurately capturing and tracking status of data processing and delivery throughout the D&A lifecycle
- Support the execution of a high-quality technology and data enabled audit as part of a high-performance, detail-oriented culture and professional client and engagement team interaction
- Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college/university in Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science or other IT-related degree; or, a minor in Information Systems with a major in Accounting, Finance, Statistics or Mathematics
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
- Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking and research skills; experience in Microsoft SQL Server technology, MSBI suite (including SQL stored procedures and data modeling) or cloud technologies (Azure suite, Databricks pipelines in Python) for financial analysis, business intelligence, data science, automation and visualization is preferred; aptitude to quickly learn various technologies (MS Office, ERP systems, KPMG Audit tools, client applications, Azure cloud technologies) and understanding of data engineering concepts, Alteryx, Power BI and Data Factory is preferred
- Strong communication, time management and relationship-building skills; able to employ sound professional judgment and professional skepticism; flexible and adaptable team player; leadership experience; resourceful in delivering high-quality, detail-oriented deliverables; ability to demonstrate sound organization and project management skills
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position; work location may be in the office or at client sites, some of which may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office); Audit Data Engineering professionals may have the opportunity to work virtually/remotely in the U.S. depending on business needs
