Apply subject matter expertise to support multinational corporate clients with indirect tax accounting matters, including the application of Value-Added Tax (VAT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST). Advise global companies on international indirect tax considerations related to cross-border transactions, online marketplace activities, process governance, invoicing, e-invoicing, real-time reporting, business expansion, cash flow management, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Advise clients on tax requirements to support Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Tax Engine implementations related to global supply chains, new country launches, changes in tax legislation, and delivery of new products or services. Represent clients before non-US Tax Authorities with respect to rulings, audits, settlements, and disclosures. Advise clients on the automation and improvement of existing indirect tax processes, including the integration of machine learning, digitization, and Artificial Intelligence into tax functions. Help clients navigate the expansion of Digital Service Tax and Significant Economic Presence Regimes, including accounting and reporting obligations related to same. Pursue business development opportunities with existing and new Indirect Tax clients. Advise clients on how best to identify, interpret, and comply with information reporting obligations (e.g. OECD Model Reporting Rules, DAC 7, DAC 8, CESOP etc.). Oversee the end-to-end Indirect Tax engagement lifecycle, including pursuit, budget, resource allocation, engagement delivery, and fee recovery. Develop, supervise, and mentor junior personnel in the Indirect Tax practice.

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

Travel to various locations throughout the U.S. required up to 30%.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Legal Studies, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Legal Studies, or a related field, and 7 years of related work experience, out of which 5 years must be post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following:

-Advising on non-US indirect tax issues related to the sale of goods and services, new product and country expansions, and changes to tax legislation;

-Advising on M&A activities, including vendor and purchaser due diligence, tax treatment of the transaction (share vs. asset deal), tax recovery position, and post-deal integration;

-Advising clients on the indirect tax implications of cross-border international transactions, including chain transactions, contract manufacturing, and consignment stock activities;

-Communicating with international Tax Authorities; and

-Reviewing and augmenting VAT/GST tax processes to help clients mitigate existing net tax costs arising in their supply chain, improve cash flow, and optimize governance structures.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following:

-Advising clients on the application and implications of Digital Services Taxes (DST);

-Advising clients on the application and implications of Significant Economic Presence (SEP) tax;

-Advising clients on the implementation of machine learning, analytics, and Generative AI into indirect tax processes;

-Working on indirect systems projects, including SAP, Oracle, TR OneSource, Vertex, Anrok, and Concur;

-Advising on information reporting requirements for companies, including digital marketplaces; and

-Advising on the global VAT/GST implications of the facilitation of transactions between Seller and Buyer.

Telecommuting within commutable distance of the office location may be permitted, depending on business need.

SALARY: $167,000 - $286,300 per year
