KPMG is currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Transactions and Governance to join our Office of General Counsels Corporate Legal Group.
Responsibilities:
- Support the groups corporate governance responsibilities, including subsidiary and affiliated entity as well as KPMG network governance matters
- Advise on and execute a broad range of corporate transactions and strategic initiatives, including financing matters, minority investments, cross-border KPMG network initiatives, KPMG US structural matters, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, including drafting and reviewing all related agreements and documents
- Conduct and oversee due diligence in strategic transactions
- Partner with other stakeholders throughout the firm (such as, other legal teams, corporate development, risk management, tax, finance and accounting, privacy, compliance, information security, technology and more)
- Oversee and coordinate relevant legal matters handled by outside counsel
Qualifications:
- Minimum seven years of recent general corporate experience with a leading law firm and/or with a sizable in-house legal department; experience with public accounting firms or other professional services firms is preferred
- JD or LLM from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S., including in the state in which their office is located
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Client-service orientation with the ability to create effective internal and external working relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations with the highest ethical standards
