KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Digital Innovation - Head of AI Discovery & Incubation to join our Digital Nexus Technology organization.
Responsibilities:
- Define the firm's Enterprise AI discovery roadmap, portfolio principles, global scale decisions, and resource/budget allocations while aligning the incubation pipeline with firmwide AI priorities and responsible AI guardrails
- Oversee the lifecycle of Enterprise AI initiatives from initial intake and prioritization through rapid prototyping, structured incubation, and final enterprise-ready transition
- Manage the Internal AI lab environment, providing secure, sandboxed experimentation infrastructure, model tooling access, and highly governed test data to enable rapid, low-risk testing
- Lead cross-functional internal innovation sprints and rapid prototyping initiatives, aligning business sponsors with engineering, architecture, risk, security, and legal teams early in the process
- Implement structured scoring and value validation to test business cases, preparing mature, de-risked concepts with comprehensive handoff packages for delivery teams
- Conduct continuous horizon scanning of emerging AI models, vendors, and academic research to deliver strategic, evidence-based recommendations to executive leadership
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum ten years of recent, progressive technology, innovation, or digital transformation experience, with a proven track record of establishing or running an emerging technology or product incubator
- Advanced degree from an accredited college or university (for example, MS, MBA, or PhD) in a technical or business-innovation field is preferred; minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field is required; or twelve years of equivalent professional experience
- Deep working knowledge of Generative AI, machine learning frameworks, data platforms, enterprise cloud architecture, and modern agile software engineering practices
- Demonstrated capability to lead, influence, and build consensus across senior business leaders, technology groups, and corporate control teams (such as risk, security, privacy, and legal)
- Proven experience translating raw technology capabilities into structured, testable business cases, evaluating ROI, allocating resources, and defining realized value
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to champion "responsible innovation" seamlessly, and balance creative speed with security, privacy, compliance, and ethical AI principles
