Provide partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations with planning, consulting, and compliance services related to federal, state, and local tax. Review tax provisions, allocations, review of tax change in method of accounting, and provide technical advice including preparation of formal tax opinions for clients. Review federal, state, and local tax returns for clients. Understand, analyze, research, and apply U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the context of clients' tax issues. Assess the tax impact of business transactions, develop positions to support tax conclusions, and assist leadership with recommending tax planning strategies to clients. Monitor the financial risk and performance of tax engagements by tracking billing, collections, and progress against budget. Demonstrate in-depth tax accounting knowledge. Pursue business development opportunities. Establish and maintain client relationships and professional networks. Learn and implement latest tax policies.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Must have an active California CPA license.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
Travel to various locations throughout the U.S. required up to 15%.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Applying U.S. GAAP; Providing tax advisory and compliance services; Analyzing U.S. federal tax issues; Understanding and reviewing federal, state, and local income tax returns; Understanding of tax revenue and expense recognition standards, depreciation and fixed assets, US R&D tax credit; and Assisting with day-to-day oversight of client portfolios involving tax planning, consulting, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
Telecommuting may be permitted within commutable distance from the office location, depending on business need

SALARY RANGE: $124,384 - $166,400 per year
