KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Tax - AMCS (Renewable Energy) to join our Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice.



Responsibilities:
  • Develop and provide knowledge in federal tax credits including but not limited to: Clean electricity Investment Tax Credit (IRC 48E), Clean electricity Production Tax Credit (IRC 45Y), Credit for carbon oxide sequestration (IRC 45Q), Credit for production of clean hydrogen (IRC 45V), Clean fuel production credit (IRC 45Z), Zero-emission nuclear power production credit (IRC 45U), Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credit (IRC 45X), Qualified Advanced Energy Project Credit (IRC 48C), Advanced manufacturing investment credit (IRC 48D), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit (HRTC); and other emerging federal tax credits
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and documentation of tax credit projects, including preparation of technical memoranda, quantitative workpapers, and contemporaneous documentation
  • Establish and maintain project management frameworks, communication protocols, and data management systems to ensure effective information flow and oversight throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support method reviews and assessments related to revenue and expense recognition, capitalization, fixed assets, and inventory
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including identifying add-on opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships both within and outside the firm
  • Provide quality assurance, engagement review, and exam support; supervise, mentor, and train Associates and Interns
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of recent experience in federal or state tax credits experience in a corporate taxation group
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, or a related business field is required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PDF, and PowerPoint
  • Experience performing tax research, tax credit, reading case law and familiarity with the internal revenue code and associated regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to handle multiple engagements and client service teams
  • Ability to travel and work at client locations
