KPMG is currently seeking a Specialist, State and Local to join our Managed Services practice.
- Support portfolio leadership by coordinating activities across Cost Management and Contract Administration functions to drive operational alignment and consistency across the portfolio.
- Manage day-to-day portfolio administration, including tracking deliverables, maintaining portfolio documentation, monitoring action items, and supporting governance routines.
- Track delivery commitments, milestones, and key performance indicators; provide status reporting and proactively identify execution risks, dependencies, and potential delays.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication and coordination across internal teams, clients, and project participants to support timely decision-making and issue resolution.
- Support portfolio planning, cost management, budgeting activities, financial tracking, and reporting to help ensure portfolio objectives are achieved within established targets.
- Assist with contract administration activities, including maintaining contract records, monitoring compliance requirements, and escalating contractual or operational concerns as appropriate.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum one year[MS1.1][MS1.2] of professional experience supporting portfolio management, project controls, program management, cost management, contract administration, or related functions, with experience working within a structured PMO (Project Management Office) or supporting capital/program controls on large-scale public infrastructure or recovery initiatives preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required; Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM), Scrum Master, or AI Project Management credentials are preferred.
- Prior experience with public sector budgeting, municipal cost allocation, or contract financial auditing; Familiarity with federal procurement standards, (e.g. GSA), or state-specific contracting compliance rules (e.g. STC or MSA) preferred.
- Experience maintaining project, portfolio, financial, or operational records and producing accurate status reports and dashboards; Proficiency with data visualization and dashboarding software such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced MS Excel features (Power Query, Pivot Tables) to track KPIs and milestones preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and collaboration tools used for portfolio administration and reporting.
- Ability to work in a hybrid office model, requiring in-office presence 2-3 days per week at your designated KPMG office
