KPMG is currently seeking a Data Center Lead Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the data center, including server hardware, network infrastructure, and data center security; develop and maintain data center policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
- Monitor and analyze data center performance metrics to plan for future requirements, identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data center systems with other enterprise systems
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in data center management; ensure the availability and reliability of all data center systems and services
- Supervise the Administration of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and power monitoring solutions; IT Service Management (ITSM) process handling, including asset/inventory databases, as well as incident and change management
- Oversee the Management of centralized KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) and console access infrastructure; maintain DC hardware asset lifecycle processes including HD and Media destruction
- Act with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of recent experience in data center management, with a focus on data center planning, hardware installations, network infrastructure, and data center security
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Strong leadership and management skills; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical network and infrastructure cabling issues
- Great communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders; ability to mentor teammates, assist team with knowledge transfer and coaching
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for data center management, including ITIL, ISO 27001, and NIST; Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel; Experience with Cloud & Virtualization technologies, such as Azure, VMware or Hyper-V, is a plus
- Experienced mechanical competency working on delicate computer equipment, with the ability to lift, and install heavy computer equipment
